LEAF PICKUP

Beginning the week of October 23, 2023, the Highway Department will be traveling around the Town picking up leaves. Leaves ONLY should be placed roadside or along the curb, NOT in the
roadway. Please do not place the leaves in bags. NO BRUSH. LEAVES ONLY This service will end on December 1, 2023 unless inclement weather arrives first.

PARKING DURING INCLEMENT WEATHER

Please do not park vehicles on the roadways during inclement weather starting November 1st through April 1st. Safety is our main concern, and the Highway Department wants to protect its employees the residents and their property during snow removal and ice control. If vehicles are parked on the road during these times, the Police Department will be called for assistance.

PLACEMENT AND REMOVAL OF SNOW
As per Chapter 81 Article III General Regulations §81-18.
Protection of highways.

Putting snow or any other type of debris on the road is prohibited. Placing snow on the road results in slushy, icy conditions. It is a hazard to all the traveling public. PLEASE DO NOT PLACE SNOW OR ICE IN THE ROADWAY.

GARBAGE PAIL PLACEMENT DURING INCLEMENT WEATHER

November 1st through April 30th

Please be advised that all garbage pails should be placed BEHIND THE CURB. There should be nothing placed in the roadway that would impede or delay the removal of snow and or ice from the
road. The garbage truck arm has the capability to reach past the curb in order to pick up your cans. Your cooperation in this matter is greatly appreciated and it will enable the Highway Department to maintain a high quality of service and safety for the public and department employees.
