PURCHASING DIRECTOR: Interested person must work with fire department officers, office staff, and members regarding purchasing equipment, supplies, and carry out ordering of same. Maintaining grants, assisting with fire department and district administrative duties. obtaining bids, scheduling repairs and maintenance of vehicles and equipment, assisting with and maintaining grants, assisting with fire department and district administrative duties. Experience in researching and purchasing through established procurement policies, managing and applying for federal/state grants, general knowledge of fire service equipment, training and operations, fire department budgets, building construction, computer skills with accounting and purchasing software, state mandate fire training and reports, previous management/supervisory experience. Must be available for evening meetings and workshop.
SECRETARY: Good organization skills, general office duties, attend all meetings of Board of Fire Commissioners (generally 2/month,) take minutes and preparation of minutes and distribute to Commissioners and others, preparation of reports and filing of same. Keep record of propositions, rules and regulations. Familiarity with NYS Archives and retention/and disposition, submission of annual budget to town(s) within District, prepare notices in compliance within legal requirements, oversee LOSAP program, organize and oversee District elections, any other duties requested by the Board of Fire Commissioners.
