The Town of Chester is interviewing for the position of Town Comptroller. The position of the Town Comptroller shall have all of the powers and duties of a town comptroller as set forth in New York Town Law §34 and such other powers and duties as may be conferred or authorized from time to time, either by local law or resolution of the Town Board. The salary of the Town Comptroller shall be the amount established from time to time by the Town Board. The initial term of the Town Comptroller shall commence by appointment and shall continue until such initial term expires on December 31, 2023.
Thereafter and beginning with the term that begins on January 1, 2024, and continuing for each and every such term thereafter, the term of office of Town Comptroller shall be two years.
