The Sugar Loaf Water District is experiencing cloudy water with possible sediment. The Water Department is in the process of coming to a conclusion as to why this has occurred. We have been in constant contact with the Orange County Health Department to determine the reasons why this is occuring. This can either include off-gassing going on between the very warm water in the storage tank mixing with the cold well water coming in and creating an off-gas which makes small air bubbles and cloudy water. You can shake the water and it should slowly go away. This can also be caused by the high usage of water along with the drought that may cause the well stirring up and creating cloudiness.

The water is safe to drink and is okay for normal use. If you don’t feel comfortable you may use bottled water.
