PLEASE BE AWARE OF ROAD SIGNS, TRAFFIC CONES AND CAUTION FLAGS.  ESPECIALLY ON BACK RURAL ROADS.  THE SAFETY OF THE TRAVELING PUBLIC AND OUR EMPLOYEES ARE OUR FIRST PRIORITY!

PARKING DURING INCLEMENT WEATHER

Please do not park vehicles on the roadways during inclement weather starting November 1st through April 1st.  Safety is our main concern, and the Highway Department wants to protect its employees the residents and their property during snow removal and ice control.  If vehicles are parked on the road during these times, the Police Department will be called for assistance.

PLACEMENT AND REMOVAL OF SNOW

As per Chapter 81 Article III General Regulations

§ 81-18.  Protection of highways.

Putting snow or any other type of debris on the road is prohibited.  Placing snow on the road results in slushy, icy conditions.  It is a hazard to all the traveling public.  PLEASE DO NOT PLACE SNOW OR ICE IN THE ROADWAY.

Please be advised that all garbage pails should be placed BEHIND THE CURB.  There should be nothing placed in the roadway that would impede or delay the removal of snow and or ice from the road.  The garbage truck arm has the capability to reach past the curb in order to pick up your cans.

Your cooperation in this matter is greatly appreciated and it will enable the Highway Department to maintain a high quality of service and safety for the public and department employees.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Highway Superintendent, John Reilly III, at (845) 469-4101.
