DECLARATION OF LOCAL STATE OF EMERGENCY
FEBRUARY 22, 2026

A State of Emergency is hereby declared in the Town of Chester for the period beginning on Sunday, February 22, 2026, at 2PM and ending on Monday February 23, 2026, at 6PM, unless further extended or rescinded by the Town Supervisor.

The state of emergency has been declared to a forecasted snowstorm with heavy snowfall, ice, high winds and extreme cold. I exercise the authority given to me under Section 24 of the New York State Executive Law, Article 2-B, to preserve the public safety and hereby render all required and available assistance vital to the security, wellbeing and health of the residents of the Town.

I hereby direct all departments of the Town of Chester to take whatever steps necessary to protect life and property, public infrastructure and provide such emergency assistance deemed necessary.

Local emergency orders may be made hereafter as situations warrant.
