TO ALL WATER DISTRICT CUSTOMERS
Please be advised that as we move through the summer months, and are enjoying this incredibly beautiful weather, we find that due to a lack of rain, our wells are experiencing reduced water levels. As a result of these recent conditions, effective August 1, 22, 2022, the Town of Chester will move forward with Water Restrictions from our Emergency Response Plan.
Pursuant to Section 4 of our Emergency Response Plan, we are taking a proactive step in the conservation of one of our most important resources; our water. When adequate water levels can be achieved, and we can meet the demand on our system, which continues to increase, we will be able to ease water restrictions and allow our users to return to their normal use. As always, it always is a great idea to find ways to conserve water, as it is a commodity that is not in endless supply.
We will continue to monitor the water levels at our wells, as well as the water usage consumed daily by our customers. The following water conservation practices are encouraged:
We further encourage commercial restaurants to utilize paper products where possible. This measure would be done on a voluntary basis and will reduce water usage where possible. These measures are helpful in our efforts to maintain water service for our Town users and will help to prevent further water restriction measures.
Please let us come together as a community in helping to preserve our water supply. We appreciate your cooperation during this time. For additional information or questions please contact the Town of Chester Town Clerk’s Office at 845-469-7000×322.
